Supplies List For Band

Below is a list of supplies for band.  Supplies can be purchased from a vendor of your choice. 
FLUTE

1.  A flute.  Be sure it comes with a cleaning rod on the inside of the case. 

2.  The book (Standard of Excellence, Book 1 by Bruce Pearson).

3.  A swab to wick moisture from the inside after playing. 

4.  A music stand for home practice.

 

CLARINET

1.  A clarinet.  Be sure it comes with a small tube of cork grease inside the case.  

2.  The book (Standard of Excellence, Book 1 by Bruce Pearson).

3.  A swab to wick moisture from the inside after playing. 

4.  A music stand for home practice. 

5.  A box of 10 (size 2) reeds.

 

 SAXOPHONE

1.  An alto saxophone.  Be sure it comes with a small tube of cork grease inside the case.  

2.  The book (Standard of Excellence, Book 1 by Bruce Pearson).

3.  A swab to wick moisture from the inside after playing. 

4.  A music stand for home practice. 

5.  A box of 10 (size 2) reeds.

6.  A neck strap. Check for ample padding on the neck, and the clip securely fastens on the instrument.

 
 
TRUMPET

1.  A trumpet. (mouthpiece included) 

2.  The book (Standard of Excellence, Book 1 by Bruce Pearson).

3.  A small bottle of valve oil to lubricate the valves.

4.  A music stand for home practice. 

 

FRENCH HORN

1.  A French horn. (mouthpiece included)

3.  A small bottle of valve oil to lubricate the valves.

TROMBONE

1.  A trombone. (mouthpiece included)

3.  A small bottle of slide grease to lubricate the slide.

BARITONE

1.  A baritone. (mouthpiece included)

PERCUSSION

1.  A bell kit.  This includes bells, mallets, practice pad, and drum sticks.

Violin, Viola & Cello
(Rosin--Music stand--Book)
You will need a lesson book (Essential Elements for Strings).  Purchasing a music stand for home practice is highly recommended. Students will need Rosin for their bows, and a soft cotton cloth to clean their instrument. Cello players will need a rock stop, and violin & viola players will need a should rest or sponge.
